Selworthy Road, Weston-super-Mare

We're working to deliver 40 new affordable homes on Selworthy Road that are a direct response to local housing need. This page shows details of what we we're intending to build.

On 24 October we held a public consultation at the For All Healthy Living Centre. We'll be presenting our final proposals at the For All Healthy Living Centre on Thursday 18 December between 2pm and 4pm, please come along to take a look, you can also view our boards here.

Our proposals

The proposal for the land at the site includes:

Around 40 new homes, all 100% affordable
Homes designed to the highest sustainable design and energy efficiency standards
A well-connected site
Supporting sustainable travel by retaining and enhancing local walking links, electric vehicle charging points and secure cycle parking
Delivering a positive ecological legacy, with a biodiversity net gain of at least 10%

High quality homes

Around 40 new homes will be created and all of them affordable. They will be a mix of social rent and shared ownership.

The homes will be designed to the highest sustainable design and energy efficiency standards. We’re aiming to achieve EPC A on all homes through high levels of insulation, thermally efficient doors and windows, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery to reduce heating demand.

Solar panels will be installed on the roofs to generate electricity that will be used in the homes during the day. Air source and hot water heat pumps will be used for heating and hot water.

The site will be well connected, close to Weston-super-Mare town centr, local schools and community amenities.

We're supporting sustainable travel by retaining local walking links, EV charging points and secure cycle parking.

The site aims to deliver a positive ecological legacy. There will be a biodiversity net gain of at least 10%, achieved through new habitats and enhanced open spaces.
