We’re delighted to announce that The Grand Appeal has been selected as Alliance Homes’ Charity of the Year for 2026/27, following an incredible response to this year’s nominations and voting process.
Earlier this year, we invited both colleagues and customers to nominate local charities close to their hearts. From these nominations, a shortlist of seven organisations was created, and the final decision was put to a public vote via our website, with The Grand Appeal receiving the most votes.
Throughout the year, Alliance Homes colleagues will get involved in activities and initiatives to raise as much money as possible to support this great cause.
Alliance Homes Director of People and Communications, Helen Grantham, said: “We’re proud to be partnering with The Grand Appeal this year. The work they do makes a huge difference for children at Bristol Children’s Hospital and for the families who are right there beside them.
“This is such a meaningful cause, and I’m looking forward to seeing our colleagues come together, fundraising and showing their support.”
The Grand Appeal’s Head of Corporate Fundraising, Helen Haskell, said: "We are honoured to be chosen as the Charity of the Year by Alliance Homes. Their work gives families the security of a place to call home, while our three family accommodation buildings do the same for families who need to stay close to their sick baby or child.
“This partnership comes at a special moment, as we see the bricks and mortar of our Patient Hotel take shape. It will offer families a place to stay together when their child no longer needs acute inpatient care.
She added: “With this support, the team at Alliance Homes will help sick babies, children and their families on their doorstop, and right across the region they serve. And that means the world."
