As a leaseholder, you have a legal agreement with us that sets out your rights and responsibilities. Alliance Homes owns the freehold of your block. When you buy your flat or maisonette, you are given a leasehold interest in your home.
As the freeholder, we are responsible for managing and maintaining your the structure and outside of the building, as well as communal repairs and shared services. As the leaseholder, you're responsible for repairs and improvements inside your home and for any services you use only for your property.
For information on how we manage leasehold homes and what you can expect from us, please read our Leasehold Management Policy, which sets out our services, including repairs, service charges, consultations and more.
Gas safety
Your gas appliances must be serviced every year for safety. Alliance Homes can arrange this for you, and you can also sign up to one of our gas servicing offers, which include an annual service and safety check.
Find out more here.
If you choose to arrange the service yourself, you must use a Gas Safe registered engineer and send us a copy of the certificate.
If you rent out your flat and it contains gas appliances, you must follow the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998, which legally require you to complete a gas safety check every year..
