Strategic Leadership Team
Louise Swain - Group Chief Executive
Louise has worked within social housing for over 20 years, 12 of these at senior management level and she has extensive experience of contributing to strategic partnerships and of delivering major change and modernisation projects. Louise is also a member of the Alliance Board.
She is passionate about social justice and delivering services and homes that customers rate as excellent. Prior to joining the Group Louise was Executive Director Customer Services at Curo Group. Louise has also worked as Operations Director at Gloucester Housing Association and in a variety of roles for Somer Community Housing Trust, Guinness Trust and Knightstone Housing. She has also held a number of Non-Executive Director roles.
Katrina Michael - Chief Finance Officer
Katrina joined Alliance in 2017 and is a qualified finance and governance professional with over 25 years experience at director level and above in social housing and other not for profit organisations. She has extensive experience of effecting business improvement and change, including the setting up of a new housing association from a stock transfer from a local authority. Katrina is also experienced at board level both in executive and non-executive roles at a number of not for profit organisations.
In her current role Katrina is responsible for Finance, Treasury, Financial Planning, Procurement, Performance Reporting and Strategy Development.
Philippa Armstrong-Owen - Director of Governance and Compliance
Pip is Alliance Homes’ Director of Business Services. Her portfolio covers a range areas including Board and Organisational Governance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Data Protection, Facilities, Insurance, Legal and scrutiny of Landlord and Employer Health and Safety compliance.
She brings with her over 13 years’ experience of working in the housing sector, with a focus on embedding governance, corporate compliance and risk within the business.
She also has experience from the private sector where, as a qualified company secretary, she has worked for both FTSE top 50 and AIM listed companies.
Pip is the Group's Company Secretary.
Liz Griffiths – Director of Community Services
Liz has over 17 years’ experience in social care, housing and support services previously holding both operational and strategic roles.
Prior to starting her role in the Strategic Leadership Team, Liz was the former Care Director of Alliance Living Care. She has also previously worked for the Sanctuary Group and Housing & Care 21.
Her role includes managing Alliance Living Care and all other non-landlord services including support, employment and neighbourhoods.
Iain Lock - Director of Investment
Iain has over 12 years’ experience of property Development and Regeneration within the social housing sector.
Prior to his role within the strategic leadership team he was the Head of Investment for Alliance Homes. He’s also worked for Homes England, Bromford and Forward Swindon.
Iain is a Non-Executive Director and Chair for the Gloucester City Homes Commercial and Development Committee
Helen Grantham – Director of People
Helen joined Alliance homes in August 2021 as Director of People.
Helen has over 20 years’ experience working across a variety of Human Resources disciplines and has held previous senior roles specifically focused on recruitment, talent management and organisational design. Much of Helens experience has been gained within private sector organisations however has also spent time working within the public sector.
As Director of People, Helens role spans all aspects of human resources and the employee experience as well as investing in our people through learning and development opportunities as well as building culture.
Matt Bingham - Director of Digital & Change
Matt joined Alliance homes in September 2021 as Director of Digital & Change.
He has 25 years’ experience working within technology, transformation and projects across a number of different sectors – Commercial, MoD and Social housing supply chain.
Most recently Matt was the IT Director at regional airline Flybe heading up the digital, technology and business change functions.
As Director of Digital & Change, Matt will help us to deliver on our Digital roadmap to benefit our customers.
