Communities Together Grant Panel Customers With Colleagues From Community Investment Team

Over £34,000 awarded to local community groups and charities

5 August 2026

Alliance Homes has awarded £34,200 to eleven community projects and charities through its Communities Together Grants programme.

The grants are awarded annually to charities, community groups and local organisations, with funding decisions made by a panel of Alliance Homes customers.

This year, projects receiving funding include a youth wellbeing initiative in Portishead, support for people experiencing food insecurity in Weston-super-Mare, and specialist support for families of young children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Naomi Smith, Alliance Homes customers and grant panel member, said:

“Being part of Alliance Homes’ Grants Panel has been really rewarding. It’s been great to see the range of applications this year and to know that, alongside other customers, I’ve been able to use my experience to help support projects and services that have such a positive impact on our communities.”

Springboard Opportunity Group, a charity based in Clevedon which supports young children with SEND to learn and flourish, received £7,215 from Alliance Homes' Communities Together Grants. Ruth Glover, Chief Executive Officer, said:

This grant will make a real difference to the families we support. It will help us to provide practical and emotional support to parents of young children with SEND at a time when many are feeling isolated and unsure where to turn.

We are especially grateful that this funding has been decided by local residents. It reflects the importance of communities coming together to support one another and shows how strongly our local community believes that every child and family should have the opportunity to thrive.
