More than 50 Alliance Homes colleagues have raised almost £3,000 for The Grand Appeal, Bristol Children's Hospital's charity, after taking on a 21-mile fundraising walk between the organisation's Portishead and Weston-super-Mare offices.
The amount raised through the walk is almost 50% above the team's original fundraising target of £2,000, with donations still continuing to come in via their fundraising page.
Colleagues travelled through Portishead, Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare as part of the challenge. While some completed the full 21-mile route, others joined for sections of the walk, which made the event accessible to colleagues across the organisation.
The challenge brought together colleagues from teams across the organisation, with volunteers also supporting behind the scenes.
The Grand Appeal was selected as Alliance Homes' Charity of the Year with the help of customers and supports sick children and their families at Bristol Children's Hospital.
Alliance Homes Chief Executive, Louise Swain, said:
"It was fantastic to see so many people come together to support our Charity of the Year. Whether colleagues completed the full 21 miles, joined for part of the route or volunteered behind the scenes, everyone played an important role in making the day a success.
We're grateful to everyone who has donated so far. The money raised will help The Grand Appeal continue its vital work supporting seriously ill children and their families."
The event was supported by several local businesses and partners, helping to keep walkers fuelled, hydrated and motivated throughout the day. Woodstock Homes sponsored the walkers' T-shirts, while Bristol Water donated reusable water bottles for participants. Landscape Service sponsored refreshments, A1 Home Inspectors provided drinks and snacks along the route, and Cobwebs helped everyone celebrate their achievement with pizzas at the finish line.
Donations are still being accepted through the team's fundraising page.
