Alliance Homes recognised as one of the UK’s best workplaces for development

21 May 2026

Alliance Homes has been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development™ 2026 by Great Place To Work®, the independent workplace culture and certification body.

The recognition celebrates organisations that make development part of everyday working life, helping colleagues to build new skills, gain qualifications and progress in their careers.

Alliance Homes’ inclusion on the list reflects its continued investment in development opportunities tailored to different roles, career stages and learning preferences. Over the past year, this has included short programmes to help colleagues build confidence and professional skills in social housing, alongside wider opportunities to gain recognised qualifications and apprenticeships in areas ranging from surveying to accountancy.

Colleagues are also supported to keep their knowledge up to date through ongoing professional development, with access to sector learning, industry bodies and regular sessions on key topics affecting housing today, from emerging legislation to tackling stigma in social housing.

Following the introduction of Awaab’s Law last October, the 7,000-home social landlord launched an innovative, immersive training programme to help colleagues working closely with customers identify potential health and safety risks in their homes. More than 260 colleagues have taken part so far, learning in a real-life setting.

Leadership development has been another key focus for Alliance Homes, with targeted support for both new and experienced leaders, including a bespoke leadership development programme and coaching, to help them strengthen their people management skills and lead confidently.

Helen Grantham, Director of People and Communications at Alliance Homes, said:
“We’re proud to be recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development. Investing in our colleagues to enable them to be  their best for our customers every day, and to reach their full potential, is important to us, whether they’re  just starting out, building their skills, or taking on a leadership role. This recognition is a testament to the great learning culture we have built.

“What matters most is making development accessible and meaningful, because investing in our colleagues means we can deliver the best possible service for our customers and communities.”

To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place To Work® assessed organisations’ approach to culture, benefits, leadership and development, alongside anonymous feedback from colleagues about their real workplace experience. Only organisations achieving the highest scores receive Best Workplaces™ status.
